Nancy Paull: New treatment facility is sorely needed in Fall River

I am disheartened to learn of Rep. Carole Fiola’s continuing opposition to and mobilizing of the public against SSTAR’s planning to develop a new treatment facility. The fact is that there is a need for more services. I listen daily to families that are desperate to get their loved ones and children into care. Fall River has one of the highest rates of opioid addiction and opiate deaths in the state. The deaths of our residents are double the nationwide average, and continue to grow each and every month.
