ARISE (Addiction Recovery in Supportive Environment) Family Interventions

Success and Celebration at Sunrise

ARISE is an approach to engaging reluctant drug and alcohol dependent individuals into treatment using an “invitational” model of intervention.

In December of 2006, 24 SSTAR employees completed a three-day training to become Certified ARISE Interventionists, a credential that would enable them to provide improved care for clients and create new opportunities for their career advancement. The training was funded by the Southeastern Massachusetts Health Care Collaborative (SEHCC), an initiative of the Bristol County Workforce Investment Board.

This service meets a long-recognized need – to offer something to families desperate to find help for a loved one with an addiction when the addicted individual is not yet willing to enter treatment on their own. Approximately 40 addicted individuals and 150 concerned others were helped in the first six months of the program.
