Integrated Counseling and Testing Specialist

Integrated Counseling and Testing Specialist needed to provide informational counseling services to individuals who feel they are at significant risk for HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis and/or STI. Responsibilities include interviewing consumers to determine their level of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior regarding HIV Disease, viral hepatitis and STI.

Requirements:

• High School graduate with two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional or para-professional experience in the field of health care, medical care, or public health education in a recognized hospital, medical facility or agency.
• At least two years continuous sobriety is required for people in recovery from drugs or alcohol.

Bi-lingual in Portuguese/Spanish desirable. Must be open to working with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles in a non-judgmental manner. Sensitivity to HIV issues and people with disabilities required. Valid drivers license, insurance and transportation.

Responsibilities include:

Providing management & counseling to patients infected or suspected of having a sexually transmitted infection (STI) including HIV & Hepatitis. Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications:

Bilingual Licensed Child Therapist

Complete our treatment team. Seeking Massachusetts LICSW or LMHC therapist primarily for children of Spanish speaking parents. Two evenings, no weekends required. Outpatient counseling program associated with primary health care provider. Some children already receiving medication services from bilingual child psychiatrist. Caseload is preferential for children, but for full time employment, may include adults, both Spanish and English speaking.

1. Provide individual and family treatment. Provide 100 hours of direct service per month.
2. Maintain case records in compliance with agency standards.
3. Participate in biweekly staff meetings.
4. Participate in weekly peer supervision and biweekly individual supervision.
5. Perform case management functions as necessary for specific clients.
6. Communicate with referring agencies and others on behalf of the client.
7. Respond to crisis situations as requested.
8. Other duties as required.

Staff Physician - Health Center

• Provides primary health care to Health Center patients.
• Participates in the on-call system.
• Participates in inpatient detox rounds as required. Participates in health professional (medical studies, residents, nurse/students, etc) mentoring.

Qualifications:

• Experience managing patients with HIV and STD required; Infectious Diseases sub-specialty training preferred.

RESEARCH COORDINATOR

SSTAR Research Department in association with Mclean Hospital and Harvard University is seeking a highly motivated college graduate to oversee a research project funded by NIDA investigating treatment outcomes in a clinical trial for patients with substance abuse problems. Specific responsibilities include subject recruitment, follow up, and assessment including conducting clinical interviews; collecting, entering, organizing and analyzing data; assisting in manuscript, grant, and IRB preparation; and performing administrative tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a research setting for individuals looking for clinical research experience before applying to graduate school in psychology (particularly clinical and counseling programs), the social sciences, or medical school. Research experience a plus.
