The Family Nurse Practitioner provides primary health care, education, and clinical functions consistent with the Family Nurse Practitioner specialty according to the regulations as indicated on Scope of Practice signed by the Chief Medical Officer.

Benefits at a Glance

SSTAR’s current provider is Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare. SSTAR contributes approximately 75% of the premium depending on the product you choose. Employee deductions are made on a pre-tax, bi-weekly basis. We have three options of health plans to choose from.

Current provider is Altus Dental. Orthodontics benefit is included for children 18 and under. SSTAR pays 50% of the premium.

In addition to vision care expenses covered through the Harvard Pilgrim insurance, Eye Med offers supplemental benefits related to eyeglasses and vision care.

Full‑time employees (24 hours or more per week) are eligible for paid vacation time, paid illness time, and 10 paid holidays. Employees working fewer than 24 hours per week accrue sick time in accordance with Massachusetts Paid Sick Time requirements.

Regular full-time and regular part-time employees scheduled to work at least 24 hours per week may elect (upon hire and during Open Enrollment) to participate in an FSA. They may elect up to $3050.00 upon hire to be withheld from their paycheck in equal amounts over the calendar year. This is pre-tax dollars that can be used for out-of-pocket medical expenses. Our Plan Administrators, Flores, will provide you with a pre-loaded debit card that can be used to pay for eligible expenses.

Colonial Life, Whole & Term Life – Annual salary amount, capped at $100,000 – no cost to employee.

This is a 403(b) program through Voya. Employees are eligible to contribute up to $24,500 annually in pretax dollars. Employees who are age 50 or over at the end of the calendar year can also make catch-up contributions of $8000.00 for a total of $32,500 in 2026.  

Available through payroll deduction but entirely at employee expense, Accident Insurance, Disability Insurance, Hospital Indemnity Insurance, Critical Illness, Cancer insurance, & Nationwide Pet Insurance.

Working Advantage Discount Program, Free or Reduced Lunch/Dinner

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) our employees become eligible to apply for Loan Repayment Programs. 

HRSA Loan Repayment: Licensed and/or Licensed Eligible Primary Care Medical Professionals, Behavioral and Mental Health Professionals.

SUD Workforce Loan Repayment: Eligible positions focus on SUD care and include: Physicians providing opioid use disorder or SUD treatment, Nurse Practitioner, Behavioral Health Professionals, Substance Use Disorder Counselors (master’s-level or equivalent),  and Registered Nurse, require a service obligation which begins the date the HHS Secretary signs your contract.

Nurse Corps Loan Repayment: Federal program administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) that helps nurses reduce their student loan debt in exchange for service. It provides loan repayment assistance to registered nurses, advanced practice registered nurses, and nurse faculty who work in eligible critical shortage facilities or accredited schools of nursing. In return for a minimum two-year service commitment, participants can receive repayment of a significant portion of their qualifying nursing education loans, with the opportunity to receive additional repayment for continued service.

Tuition Remission Program offers eligible employees the ability to attend state-supported undergraduate courses at Massachusetts colleges with tuition remitted. The program aids workforce development and career advancement within human services, career path in nursing, behavioral health, substance use, and community health to name a few.
